VCentral provides the network administrator with real-time
status of the networks overall health in a single
summary view, allowing administrators to benefit from faster
diagnosis and issue resolution. By enabling a single system-wide
view of alarms and received SNMP traps, VCentral also eliminates
the need to observe multiple alarm locations, track log
entries, or interpret MIB (Management Information Base)
files. Simultaneously, SNMP traps can be sent to a Network
Management System for efficient analysis and processing
by the Network Operations Center. The current alarm list
shows all the outstanding alarms on the system whereas the
Network Events list shows the history of all the events
generated on the system.
VCentral contains a Network Map that displays each managed
Venturi Optimization Engine as nodes on the GUI. It represents
Venturi Optimization Engines and their status. It is sensitive
to the changes in the Optimization Engines status
and it quickly reflects those changes in the GUI. Any outstanding
alarm on the Optimization Engine gets propagated to the
Network map. The nodes representing the Optimization Engine
on a network map blinks according to the severity of the
outstanding alarm on the Optimization Engine. For example,
a critical alarm on the Optimization Engine makes the color
of the node representing the Optimization Engine on the
network map to display red. The Network map can be used
at any point of time to monitor the status of the complete
network of Venturi Optimization Engines.
